Directional surveys are too far apart at the usual 90 feet in unconventional laterals.
While it is considered uneconomic to survey at a closer spacing, an analysis of the positive displacement motor (PDM) slide/rotate sequences or rotary steerable system (RSS) set points along with standard MWD surveying can yield much higher fidelity in survey data.

What is survey management and why is it important to us?
How does our understanding of the earth's magnetic field affect our ability to determine our wellbore's position?
How do we measure the strength of the magnetic field?
What are some other anomalies that affect our survey?
Drillstring interference
Sag at the tool
Sensor misalignment
What are our operational considerations for survey management?
